Dr Yiu Chi Shing

Dr Yiu Chi Shing joined POPULAR in 2023 as the Chairman of Popular Holdings Limited. Dr Yiu has an illustrious career marked by exceptional leadership and a robust track record in various business domains. Dr Yiu is concurrently serving as the Chairman of TransGlobal Group (International) Limited, where he has spearheaded financial investments across the Asia Pacific region, with notable contributions to real estate development, luxury tourism hotels, infrastructure projects including bridges and toll roads, and urban public utility initiatives. Dr Yiu is a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and the Chief Executive Election Committee of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Additionally, Dr Yiu is an appointed Justice of the Peace of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Dr Yiu was awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star by The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Dr Yiu holds an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Economics and a Master’s Degree in Business Management from Huaqiao University.
Mr Simon Shen

Mr Simon Shen joined POPULAR in 2023 as the Director of Popular Holdings Limited. Mr Shen is a seasoned investment banker with extensive experience at Goldman Sachs and Barclays before founding ZQ Capital in 2016. Mr Shen worked for many years for Goldman Sachs in both New York and Hong Kong. Mr Shen was also head of the China Financial Institutions Group at Barclays. Mr Shen advised multiple corporations globally in their capital markets and M&A activities and has extensive connections with entrepreneurs in China. Mr Shen serves on the board of a number of public companies in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Mr Shen graduated from Wesleyan University with a BA in Economics and Mathematics.
Ms Emily Yiu

Ms Emily Yiu joined POPULAR in 2023 as Group Executive Director and was appointed Chief Executive Officer of POPULAR Singapore in 2024. Ms Yiu leads the company’s strategic direction, driving initiatives to strengthen its retail positioning and brand relevance in an evolving education and consumer landscape. Her focus includes enhancing customer engagement and advancing POPULAR’s retail capabilities through experiential formats and integrated offerings. Ms Yiu holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
Mr Ponch Poon
Chief Executive Officer, Greater China And Canada
Mr Ponch Poon joined POPULAR in 2009 as the CEO of Greater China. Mr Poon is a qualified accountant with double majors in both Business Administration and Computer Science. Mr Poon has over 35 years of experience in business management as a CEO and seasoned financial management as a CFO. Mr Poon held various senior management positions in reputable multinational and listed companies in China Hong Kong, Canada and Mainland China.
Ms Lim Lee Ngoh
Executive Director, Malaysia
Ms Lim Lee Ngoh joined POPULAR as an Accountant in 1986. Over her 38 years with POPULAR, Ms Lim held various positions, including Retail Manager and General Manager, before being promoted to Executive Director of POPULAR Malaysia in May 1995. Ms Lim is currently responsible for POPULAR’s operations in Malaysia. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting, Finance, Business) Degree from the University of New South Wales, Australia.
