He wanted to illustrate and express the tight-knit bond of friendship through casual, whimsical caricatures. “I used casual everyday language that readers can resonate with,” explains Ernest, who is also a Mass Communication graduate. “My comic can entertain just about anyone.” The Origin of Covidball Z The idea for Covidball Z came to Ernest when the COVID-19 pandemic hit Malaysia. “I saw that a lot of people, including the frontliners, were deeply stressed because of thepandemic,”hesays.“So,Itriedtopresent the whole situation in an anime style and started with just one episode, but it grew into an entire series in the end.” Not expecting Covidball Z to grab the spotlight and propel him to greater fame, Ernest revealed that his intention was simply to bring a smile to Malaysians Ahousehold name among comic fans in Malaysia, Ernest Ng established himself as a celebrated cartoonist with the publication of his debut work, Bro Don’t Like That La Bro. Having started his artistic journey when he was only five years old, the Melaka-born comic artist turned his passion into his profession in 2010. A Story of Friendship Available as physical copies as well as on his Facebook page, Bro Don’t Like That La Bro was very well received by the many followers of @dontlikethatbro.
