A Warm Welcome of 2021 温馨迎接2021 Popular Hong Kong held a simple but meaningful ceremony to thank their staff for their dedication and commitment to POPULAR. 香港大众在疫情期间，举办小型典礼，感谢长期为公司付出的同仁。 Popular Hong Kong has always welcomed the new year with an annual dinner, gathering all our staff under one roof to share the stories of their hard work of the previous year. This year was different as the current pandemic has changed everything. Masks and hand sanitiser have become indispensable, whilst temperature taking, working from home and video conferencing is now routine. Out of the consideration for our staff’s safety, Popular Hong Kong decided to cancel our annual dinner for 2021. A Simple Heart-warming Ceremony The cancellation of Popular Hong Kong’s annual dinner did not mean that the important contributions of our long-serving staff were forgotten. In fact, a Long Service Award (LSA) presentation ceremony was held on the afternoon of 5 February 2021 at Tsuen Wan Industrial Centre, where it was divided into three sessions to avoid large gatherings. There were 61 LSA awardees in 2020, with two staff from the Arts Department being awarded the 25-year LSA, four the 20-year LSA and seven the 15-year LSA. Rounding up the awards, there were 21 and 27 awardees for the 10-year and 5-year LSA respectively. 46 awardees were able to attend the presentation ceremony in person.
