气 冲 天 众 迎 春 A Bullish POPULAR New Year Popular Malaysia’s celebration of the 2021 Spring Festival brought all their staff closer together during the pandemic. 疫情期间，马来西亚大众的2021年新春庆祝会，促进了同事情谊。 As we welcomed the Year of the Golden Ox on 12 February 2021, this Chinese New Year (CNY ) was anything but usual. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Popular Malaysia celebrated the most important festival in the lunar calendar with an added emphasis on the safety of all their staff. A Festival of Spring and Snacks The theme of Popular Malaysia’s CNY celebration in 2021 was “Moo Moo Cow”. The Book Tree – which was originally a key decoration in Popular Malaysia’s winning entry in last year’s inaugural Christmas Decoration Competition – was creatively transformed for the CNY, also known as the “Spring Festival”. Together with the gorgeous blooming cherry blossoms, our new Book Tree instantly became the centre of attraction when one stepped into Popular Malaysia’s lobby . There was no shortage of volunteers from the various departments to decorate our office. Many staff even took the initiative to decorate their work desks, bringing the festive mood into their office space. Decked in festive red, various colourful Spring Festival decorations adorned the entire office! What is a CNY celebration without delicious festive snacks? A variety of treats with auspicious significance – such as mandarin oranges, cookies, chocolates, and drinks – were available in abundance during the festive period. Other than the yummy food, there was even a surprise giveaway where our staff stood to win many mysterious prizes! A Sense of Belonging and Closeness Nothing brings people together like festivals do!
